Luka is a settlement in the central part of Dugi otok, located under the island's largest hill, Vela Straža. The nearest place is Žman (from the southeast) and Savar (from the northwest).
It was first mentioned in 1365 as Vallis Sancti Stephani. The place is characterized by attractive promenades and natural beaches. Tourism is developed, and thanks to the safe bays, it is often the anchorage for yachts and ships. Bok bay with medicinal mud is also nearby. About 100 inhabitants live in the village in winter, while this number increases many times over in summer. The traditional festival takes place on August 2-3 every year.
