radary chorvatsko 2024

These days, new fixed speed cameras are being installed across Croatia. These cameras are part of a broader program aimed at increasing road safety.

More than 500 fake and 175 real cameras

According to the Danica report, these are camera housings - camera covers, most of which are mostly empty because there are more housings than cameras. The cameras are regularly moved, so drivers never know which housing is empty and which is not, increasing the effectiveness of this measure.

At the end of last year, there were about 360 camera housings and 115 cameras on the roads across the country, which are periodically placed in different locations. These days, about 110 new housings and approximately 40 cameras are being installed, and by the end of the year, another 40 housings and about 20 cameras will be added. Therefore, by the end of this year 2024, there will be a total of approximately 510 housings and 175 cameras in Croatia.

These are cameras that, in addition to speed, record whether the driver is using a mobile phone while driving or if they are wearing a seatbelt. This step is part of a broader effort to increase road safety and reduce the number of traffic accidents.

The new housings are being installed these days in the wider areas of Zagreb and Bjelovar. According to unofficial information, they are also coming to the Koprivnica-Križevci County area, where there are currently a total of 18 housings.

The installation of new fixed cameras and radars is a step towards increasing safety on Croatian roads. Regularly moving cameras between housings ensures that drivers will always be vigilant and comply with traffic regulations. Strict adherence to speed limits not only helps prevent accidents but also protects drivers' wallets from high fines.
