Current Electricity Price in Croatia in 2024
Electricity is a fundamental commodity whose price is important for both households and businesses. In Croatia, electricity prices consist of several components, which include not only the cost of electricity itself but also distribution and transmission fees, and other regulatory charges. This article provides an overview of the current electricity prices in Croatia in 2024, including distribution costs and other charges.Electricity Price for Households
The electricity price for households in Croatia is regulated by the government and depends on the total electricity consumption. According to HEP (Hrvatska elektroprivreda), the national electricity supplier, the following prices apply to households:1. Consumption up to 3,000 kWh in six months: For households that consume up to 3,000 kWh in six months, the electricity price is set according to basic tariff rates. For the single tariff model (where the price is the same throughout the day), the price is 0,073 € per kWh.
2. Consumption over 3,000 kWh in six months: If households exceed this consumption, they pay a 50% surcharge on the basic tariff for the excess.
Distribution Fees
In addition to the electricity price, distribution and transmission costs, necessary for the delivery of electricity from the producer to households, must also be added. HEP ODS (Operator distribucijskog sustava) states that distribution fees for households are as follows:- Low voltage distribution (up to 0.4 kV): The fee for electricity distribution is approximately 0,044 € per kWh.
- Transmission and system services: These fees cover the transmission network and system services and amount to approximately 0,015 € per kWh.
Regulatory Fees
In addition to basic tariff and distribution fees, special fees are also paid for the support of renewable energy sources and cogeneration. This fee is set at 0,013936 € per kWh.Total Electricity Price
By combining all these components, the total price per kWh for households can be calculated:
- Basic tariff: 0,073 € per kWh
- Distribution fees: 0,044 € per kWh
- Transmission and system services: 0,015 € per kWh
- Regulatory fees: 0,013936 € per kWh
The total price per kWh for households is therefore approximately 0,145936 € (or about 1.10 HRK) per kWh without VAT.
The current electricity price in Croatia for households consists of several components, including the cost of electricity itself, distribution fees, transmission fees, and regulatory fees. The total electricity price for households is approximately 0,145936 € per kWh. It is important for households to monitor their consumption and optimally utilize tariff models to minimize electricity costs.
